The revelation of this Book (the Quran) is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

 

 2. 本当にわれは真理によって，あなたにこの啓典を下した。それでアッラーに仕え，信心の誠を尽せ。

 

 Verily, We have sent down the Book to you (O Muhammad SAW) in truth: So worship Allâh (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allâh's sake only, (and not to show-off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship).

 

 3. 信心の誠を尽して仕えるのは，アッラーに対し当然ではないか。だがかれを差し置いて（他に）保護者を求める者は，「わたしたちがかれら（神々）に仕えるのは只わたしたちがアッラーの御側に近づくためである。」（という）。本当にアッラーはかれらの異なる点について，必ずその間を裁決なされる。アッラーは，虚偽で恩を忘れる者を御導きになられない。

 

 Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only. And those who take Auliyâ' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allâh." Verily, Allâh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allâh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.

 

 4. アッラーが子を持とうと御望みなら，御自分の創られるものの中から，望みの者を選ばれる。かれに讃えあれ。かれはアッラー，唯一にして（万有の）征服者である。

 

 Had Allâh willed to take a son (or offspring or children), He could have chosen whom He pleased out of those whom He created. But glory be to Him! (He is above such things). He is Allâh, the One, the Irresistible.

 

 5. かれは真理をもって天地を創造なされ，夜をもって昼を覆いまた昼をもって夜を覆わせ，太陽と月を服従させてそれぞれ定められた周期に運行させる。本当にかれは，偉力ならびなくよく赦される方である。

 

 He has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes the night to go in the day and makes the day to go in the night. And He has subjected the sun and the moon. Each running (on a fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving.

 

 6. かれはあなたがたを一つの魂から創り，それからその配偶者を創り，またかれは8頭の家畜を雌雄であなたがたに遣わされた。かれはあなたがたを母の胎内に創られ，3つの暗黒の中において，創造につぐ創造をなされた。このように，あなたがたの主アッラーに大権は属する。かれの外に神はないのである。なのにあなたがたはどうして背き去るのか。

 

 He created you (all) from a single person (Adam); then made from him his wife [Hawwa' (Eve)]. And He has sent down for you of cattle eight pairs (of the sheep, two, male and female; of the goats, two, male and female; of the oxen, two, male and female; and of the camels, two, male and female). He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, creation after creation in three veils of darkness, such is Allâh your Lord. His is the kingdom, Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). How then are you turned away?

 

 7. もしあなたがたが信じなくても，アッラーはあなたがたを必要とされない。だがかれは，しもべたちの不信心を喜ばれはしない。しかし感謝するならば，かれは喜ばれる。重荷を負う者は，外の者の重荷を負うことは出来ない。やがてあなたがたは，自分の主の御許に帰るのである。その時かれは，あなたがたの（現世における）行いの凡てを御告げになる。本当にかれは，（人びとの）胸に抱くことを熟知なされる。

 

 If you disbelieve, then verily, Allâh is not in need of you, He likes not disbelief for His slaves. And if you are grateful (by being believers), He is pleased therewith for you. No bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another. Then to your Lord is your return, so He will inform you what you used to do. Verily, He is the All-Knower of that which is in (men's) breasts.

 

 8. 人間は災厄に会えば主に祈り，悔悟してかれに返る。だが，恩恵がかれの御許から授けられると，先に祈ったことを忘れて，アッラーに同位者を配し，かれの道から（人びとを）迷わせる。言ってやるがいい。「あなたは，束の間の不信心（の生活）を享楽するがよい。本当にあなたは，火獄の仲間である。」

 

 And when some hurt touches man, he cries to his Lord (Allâh Alone), turning to Him in repentance, but when He bestows a favour upon him from Himself, he forgets that for which he cried for before, and he sets up rivals to Allâh, in order to mislead others from His Path. Say: "Take pleasure in your disbelief for a while: surely, you are (one) of the dwellers of the Fire!"

 

 9. 夜に眠らず目を覚ましている時に，サジダしあるいは立って礼拝にうちこんで，来世に備え，また主の御慈悲を請い願う者（がそうではない者と同じであろうか）。言ってやるがいい。「知っている者と，知らない者と同じであろうか。」（しかし）訓戒を受け入れるのは，思慮ある者だけである。

 

 Is one who is obedient to Allâh, prostrating himself or standing (in prayer) during the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord (like one who disbelieves)? Say: "Are those who know equal to those who know not?" It is only men of understanding who will remember (i.e. get a lesson from Allâh's Signs and Verses).

 

 10. 言ってやるがいい。「信仰するわれのしもべたちよ，主を畏れなさい。現世において善行をなす者には，善い（報酬）がある。アッラーの大地は広いのである。よく耐え忍ぶ者は本当に限りない報酬を受ける。」

 

 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O My slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allâh Islâmic Monotheism), be afraid of your Lord (Allâh) and keep your duty to Him. Good is (the reward) for those who do good in this world, and Allâh's earth is spacious (so if you cannot worship Allâh at a place, then go to another)! Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning."

 

 11. 言ってやるがいい。「わたしはアッラーに，信心の誠を尽して仕えるよう命じられ，

 

 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, I am commanded to worship Allâh (Alone) by obeying Him and doing religious deeds sincerely for Allâh's sake only and not to show off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship;

 

 12. またわたしはムスリムの先達であるよう命じられている。」

 

 "And I am commanded (this) in order that I may be the first of those who submit themselves to Allâh (in Islâm) as Muslims."

 

 13. 言ってやるがいい。「わたしがもし，主に背くようなことがあれば，偉大な日の懲罰が恐ろしい。」

 

 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, if I disobey my Lord, I am afraid of the torment of a great Day."

 

 14. 言ってやるがいい。「わたしはアッラーに誠を尽して仕えます。

 

 Say (O Muhammad SAW) "Allâh Alone I worship by doing religious deeds sincerely for His sake only and not to show-off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship."

 

 15. あなたがたは，かれを差し置いて，欲するものに仕えるがいい。」言ってやるがいい。「本当に失敗者とは，審判の日に，自らの魂とその家族を失う者である。本当にそれは明らかな失敗である。」

 

 So worship what you like besides Him. Say (O Muhammad SAW): "The losers are those who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, that will be a manifest loss!"

 

 16. かれらの上は火の覆い，かれらの下も（火の）床であろう。このようにアッラーはしもべに警告なされる。「しもべたちよ，だからわれを畏れよ。」

 

 They shall have coverings of Fire, above them and covering (of Fire) beneath them; with this Allâh does frighten His slaves: "O My slaves, therefore fear Me!"

 

 17. 邪神〔ターグート〕を避けて，尊信せず悔悟して，アッラーの許に帰る者には吉報があろう。だからわがしもべたちに吉報を伝えなさい。

 

 Those who avoid At-Tâghût (false deities) by not worshipping them and turn to Allâh in repentance, for them are glad tidings; so announce the good news to My slaves,

 

 18. 御言葉を聞いて，その中の最も良いところに従う者たちに。これらはアッラーが導かれた者であり，これらこそ思慮ある者たちである。

 

 Those who listen to the Word [good advice Lâ ilâha ill-Allâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) and Islâmic Monotheism, etc.] and follow the best thereof (i.e. worship Allâh Alone, repent to Him and avoid Tâghût, etc.) those are (the ones) whom Allâh has guided and those are men of understanding (like Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail, Salmân Al-Fârisi and Abû Dhar Al-Ghifârî). [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 12, P. 244]

 

 19. だがかれに対し審判があって，懲罰の御言葉が下った者を（誰が助けられよう）。あなたは火獄の中にいる者を，救えるとでも言うのか。

 

 Is, then one against whom the Word of punishment justified (equal to the one who avoids evil). Will you (O Muhammad SAW) rescue him who is in the Fire?

 

 20. だが主を畏れる者に対しては，館の上に館の高楼があり，その下には川が流れる。アッラーの御約束である。アッラーは決して約束を破られない。

 

 But those who fear Allâh and keep their duty to their Lord (Allâh), for them are built lofty rooms; one above another under which rivers flow (i.e. Paradise). (This is) the Promise of Allâh: and Allâh does not fail in (His) Promise.

 

 21. 見ないのか，アッラーが天から雨を降らせられ，それを地中に入らせて泉となされ，それから色とりどりの，植物を生えさせ，やがてそれらが枯れて黄色になるのを。それから，それを乾かして，ぼろぼろの屑になされる。本当にこの中には，思慮ある者への教訓がある。

 

 See you not, that Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, and causes it to penetrate the earth, (and then makes it to spring up) as water-springs and afterward thereby produces crops of different colours, and afterward they wither and you see them turn yellow, then He makes them dry and broken pieces. Verily, in this, is a Reminder for men of understanding.

 

 22. アッラーが，胸を開きイスラームとし，主からの御光を受けた者が同じであろうか。災いなるかな，アッラーの啓示を頑なに拒む者こそ，明らかに心迷える者である。

 

 Is he whose breast Allâh has opened to Islâm, so that he is in light from His Lord (as he who is non-Muslim)? So, woe to those whose hearts are hardened against remembrance of Allâh! They are in plain error!

 

 23. アッラーはこの上ない素晴しい言葉を，互いに似た（語句をもって）繰り返し啓典で啓示なされた。主を畏れる者は，それによって肌は戦き震える。その時アッラーを讃え唱念すれば肌も心も和ぐ。これがアッラーの御導きである。かれは御心に適う者を導かれる。だがアッラーが迷うに任せた者には，導き手はない。

 

 Allâh has sent down the best statement, a Book (this Qur'ân), its parts resembling each other in goodness and truth, oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it (when they recite it or hear it). Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allâh. That is the guidance of Allâh. He Guides therewith whom He pleases and whomever Allâh sends astray, for him there is no guide.

 

 24. それで審判の日の痛苦を顔に受ける者はどうであろう。不義者に対しては言われよう。「あなたがたが行って得たこと（の罰）を味わえ。」

 

  Is he then, who will confront with his face the awful torment on the Day of Resurrection (as he who enters peacefully in Paradise)? And it will be said to the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.): "Taste what you used to earn!"

 

 25. かれら以前の者も（また啓示を）拒否した。それで思いもかけない方面から，懲罰がかれらに下った。

 

 Those before them belied, and so the torment came on them from directions they perceived not.

 

 26. アッラーは現世の生活においても，かれらに屈辱を味わわせられる。だが来世における懲罰は更に大きい。ああ，かれらがそれを知っていたならば。

 

 So Allâh made them to taste the disgrace in the present life, but greater is the torment of the Hereafter if they only knew!

 

 27. またわれは各種の比喩を人びとのために，このクルアーンの中で提示した。かれらが訓戒を受け入れればよいと思って。

 

 And indeed We have put forth for men, in this Qur'ân every kind of similitude in order that they may remember.

 

 28. 少しも曲ったところのない，アラビア語のクルアーンで必ずかれらはわれを畏れること（を知る）であろう。

 

 An Arabic Qur'ân, without any crookedness (therein) in order that they may avoid all evil which Allâh has ordered them to avoid, fear Him and keep their duty to Him.

 

 29. アッラーは一つの比喩を提示なされる。多くの主人がいて互いに争う者と，只一人の主人に忠実に仕えている者とこの2人は比べてみて同じであろうか。アッラーに讃えあれ。だが，かれらの多くは分らないのである。

 

 Allâh puts forth a similitude: a (slave) man belonging to many partners (like those who worship others along with Allâh) disputing with one another, and a (slave) man belonging entirely to one master, (like those who worship Allâh Alone). Are those two equal in comparison? All the praises and thanks be to Allâh! But most of them know not.

 

 30. 本当にあなたは（何時かは）死ぬ。かれらもまた死ぬのである。

 

 Verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) will die and verily, they (too) will die.

 

 31. それから審判の日に，あなたがたは主の御前で，論争す（ることになり裁きを受け）る。

 

 Then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will be disputing before your Lord.

 

 32. アッラーについて嘘を言い，また自分のもとに真理が来るとこれを拒否する者以上に，不義な者があろうか。地獄には，不信心者への住まいがないとでもいうのか。

 

 Then, who does more wrong than one who utters a lie against Allâh, and denies the truth [this Qur'ân, the Prophet (Muhammad SAW), the Islâmic Monotheism, the Resurrection and the reward or punishment according to good or evil deeds] when it comes to him! Is there not in Hell an abode for the disbelievers?

 

 33. だが真理を齎す者，またそれを確認（して支持）する者，これらは正義を行う者である。

 

 And he (Muhammad SAW) who has brought the truth (this Qur'ân and Islâmic Monotheism) and (those who) believed therein (i.e. the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism), those are Al- Muttaqûn (the pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2).

 

 34. かれらはアッラーの御許で，何でも望むものを得られよう。これは善行をなす者への報奨である。

 

 They shall have all that they will desire with their Lord. That is the reward of Muhsinun (good-doers - see V.2:112).

 

 35. それでアッラーは，かれらの行いの最悪のものでも消滅なされ，かれらの行った最善のものをとって報奨を与えられる。

 

 So that Allâh may remit from them the evil of what they did and give them the reward, according to the best of what they used to do.

 

 

 36. アッラーはそのしもべにとって万全（な守護者）ではないか。だがかれらはかれ以外（の神々）をもって，あなたを脅そうとする。アッラーが迷うに任せた（このような）者には導きはあり得ない。

 

 Is not Allâh Sufficient for His slave? Yet they try to frighten you with those (whom they worship) besides Him! And whom Allâh sends astray, for him there will be no guide.

 

 37. アッラーが導く者を，迷わせる者は誰もいない。アッラーは（その御意志を実現なされる）偉力ならびなき方であり，応報の主である。

 

 And whomsoever Allâh guides, for him there will be no misleader. Is not Allâh All-Mighty, Possessor of Retribution?

 

 38. もしあなたがかれらに，「天地を創ったのは誰か。」と問えば，かれらは必ず「アッラー。」と言うであろう。言ってやるがいい。「それならあなたがたは考えないのか。アッラーの外にあなたがたの祈るものたちは，もしアッラーがわたしに対し災厄を御望みの時，かれの災厄を除くことが出来るのか。またわたしに対し慈悲を御望みの時，かれの慈悲を拒否することが出来るか。」言ってやるがいい。「わたしは，アッラーがいれば万全である。きちんと信頼しようとする者は，かれを信頼する。」

 

 And verily, if you ask them: "Who created the heavens and the earth?" Surely, they will say: "Allâh (has created them)." Say: "Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allâh, if Allâh intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm, or if He (Allâh) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?" Say : "Sufficient for me is Allâh; in Him those who trust (i.e. believers) must put their trust."

 

 39. 言ってやるがいい。「わたしの人々よ，あなたがたの好きなように行え。わたしは（自分の役目を）行う。やがてあなたがたは知るであろう。

 

 Say: (O Muhammad SAW) "O My people! Work according to your way, I am working (according to my way). Then you will come to know,

 

 40. 誰に恥ずべき懲罰が来るのか，また誰に永遠の懲罰が下るのかを。」

 

"To whom comes a disgracing torment, and on whom descends an everlasting torment."

 

 41. われは人びとのため，真理によってあなたに啓典を下した。それで誰でも，導きを受ける者は，自分を益し，また誰でも迷う者は，自分を損うだけである。あなたはかれらの後見人ではない。

 

 Verily, We have sent down to you (O Muhammad SAW) the Book (this Qur'ân) for mankind in truth. So whosoever accepts the guidance, it is only for his ownself, and whosoever goes astray, he goes astray only for his (own) loss. And you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakîl (trustee or disposer of affairs, or keeper) over them.

 

 42. アッラーは（人間が）死ぬとその魂を召され，また死なない者も，睡眠の間（それを召し），かれが死の宣告をなされた者の魂は，そのままに引き留め，その外のものは定められた時刻に送り返される。本当にこの中には，反省する人びとへの種々の印がある。

 

 It is Allâh Who takes away the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps those (souls) for which He has ordained death and sends the rest for a term appointed. Verily, in this are signs for a people who think deeply.

 

 43. かれらはアッラー以外に，執り成す者を求めるのか。言ってやるがいい。「かれら（邪神たちに）は何の力もなく，また何も理解しないではないか。」

 

 Have they taken others as intercessors besides Allâh? Say: "Even if they have power over nothing whatever and have no intelligence?"

 

 44. 言ってやるがいい。「執り成し（の許し）は，凡てアッラーに属する。天と地の大権はかれの有である。やがてあなたがたはかれの許に帰される。」

 

 Say: "To Allâh belongs all intercession. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, then to Him you shall be brought back."

 

 45. アッラーだけが述べられると，来世を信じない者たちの心はうんざりする。だがかれではなく外（の神々）が述べると，見よ，かれらは喜ぶ。

 

And when Allah Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter are filled with disgust (from the Oneness of Allah and when those (whom they obey or worship) besides Him [like all false deities other than Allah, it may be a Messenger like 'Iesa (Jesus) ­ son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), an angel, a pious man, a jinn, or any other creature even idols, graves of religious people, saints, priests, monks, etc.] are mentioned, behold, they rejoice!

 

46.   （祈って）言いなさい。「おおアッラー、天と地の創造者、幽玄界と現象界を知っておられる方、あなたは、しもべたちの間で意見を異にすることに就いて、御裁きになる。」

 

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen) and the seen. You will judge between your slaves about that wherein they used to differ."

 

    47.  仮令悪を行う者が、地上の凡てのもの、なおそれに倍するものを所有し、審判の日における懲罰の苦難から、逃れる身代金にしようと思っても（無益である）。その時かれらが思い及ばなかったことが、アッラーからかれらに現わされよう。

 

And those who did wrong (the polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah), if they had all that is in earth and therewith as much again, they verily, would offer it to ransom themselves therewith on the Day of Resurrection from the evil torment, and there will become apparent to them from Allah, what they had not been reckoning.

 

    48.  かれらの稼いだ、沢山の悪事に出合い、嘲笑していたものが、かれらを取り囲むであろう。

 

And the evils of that which they earned will become apparent to them, and they will be encircled by that which they used to mock at!

 

    49.  人は災厄に会うとわれに祈る。だがわれがそれを恩恵に変えると、「本当に、自分の知識によるものであった」と言う。いや、これも一つの試みである。だがかれらの多くは理解しない。

 

When harm touches man, he calls to Us (for help), then when We have (rescued him from that harm and) changed it into a favour from Us, he says: "Only because of knowledge (that I possess) I obtained it." Nay, it is only a trial, but most of them know not!

 

    50.  かれら以前の者も、このように言った。だがかれらの稼いだものは、益するところなどなかった。

 

Verily, those before them said it, yet (all) that they had earned availed them not.

 

    51.  そしてかれらの稼いだ悪い結果の数々が、かれらを襲った。これで不義を行った者は、その行いの悪い諸結果に、やがて直面する。かれらは、（わが計画を）決して砕くことは出来ない。

 

So, the evil results of that which they earned overtook them. And those who did wrong of these [people to whom you (Muhammad SAW) have been sent], will also be overtaken by the evil results (torment) for that which they earned, and they will never be able to escape.

 

    52.  かれらは、アッラーが御望みの者に糧を広げまた引き締められることを知らないのか。本当にこの中には、信仰する民への印がある。

 

Do they not know that Allah enlarges the provision for whom He wills, and straitens it (for whom He wills). Verily, in this are signs for the folk who believe!

 

53.  自分の魂に背いて過ちを犯したわがしもべたちに言え、「それでもアッラーの慈悲に対して絶望してはならない」アッラーは、本当に凡ての罪を赦される。かれは寛容にして慈悲深くあられる。

 

Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

 

    54.  あなたがたは懲罰が来る前に、主に悔悟して帰り、かれに服従、帰依しなさい。その（懲罰がやって来た）後では、あなたがたは助からない。

 

"And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islamic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islam), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped.

 

    55.  あなたがたが気付かない中、突然懲罰がやって来る前に、主からあなたがたに下された最も善い（道）に従え。

 

"And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord (i.e. this Quran, do what it orders you to do and keep away from what it forbids), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!"

 

    56.  魂がこのように言わないよう。『ああ情ない、わたしはアッラーヘ（自分の義務を）怠っていた。本当にわたしは嘲笑者の一人であった。』

 

Lest a person should say: "Alas, my grief that I was undutiful to Allah (i.e. I have not done what Allah has ordered me to do), and I was indeed among those who mocked [at the truth! i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), the Quran, and Muhammad SAW and at the faithful believers, etc.]

 

    57.  または、『アッラーがわたしを、御導き下されたならば、わたしは必ず主を畏れたものを。』と言わないよう。

 

Or (lest) he should say: "If only Allah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2)."

 

    58.  また懲罰を見た時、『わたしがもう一度（現世に）帰れるならば、わたしは必ず善い行いをする者の一人になるであろう。』と言わないよう。

 

Or (lest) he should say when he sees the torment: "If only I had another chance (to return to the world) then I should indeed be among the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V.2:112)."

 

    59.  いやそうではない。確かにわが印は下ったのである。だがあなたがたはそれを嘘であるとした。そして高慢で不信心な一人となった。」

 

Yes! Verily, there came to you My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and you denied them, and were proud and were among the disbelievers.

 

    60.  審判の日、あなたはアッラーに対し虚偽を語った者たちを見よう。かれらの顔は黒く変るであろう。地獄には、高慢な者の住まいがないと言うのか。

 

And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied against Allah (i.e. attributed to Him sons, partners, etc.) their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the arrogant ones?

 

    61.  だがアッラーは、主を畏れた者を安泰な場所に救う。かれらは災厄に会うこともなく、憂いもない。

 

And Allah will deliver those who are the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2) to their places of success (Paradise). Evil shall touch them not, nor shall they grieve.

 

    62.  アッラーは、凡てのものの創造者であり、また凡てのものの管理者である。

 

Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Wakil (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian, etc.) over all things.

 

    63.  天と地の鍵はアッラーの有である。かれの印を拒否した者こそ失敗者である。

 

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. And those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, such are they who will be the losers.

 

    64.  言ってやるがいい。「あなたがたは、アッラーを差し置いて外に仕えるようわたしに命じるのか、無知な者たちよ。」

 

Say (O Muhammad SAW to the polytheists, etc.): "Do you order me to worship other than Allah O you fools ?"

 

    65.  われは既にあなたに啓示した。あなた以前の者たちに（啓示）したように。もしあなたが（邪神をわれに）配したならば、（現世における）あなたの行いは虚しいものになり、必ず失敗者となるのである。

 

And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad SAW), as it was to those (Allah's Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers."

 

    66.  いや、アッラーに仕えて、感謝する者となれ。

 

Nay! But worship Allah (Alone and none else), and be among the grateful.

 

    67.  かれらは、アッラーを正しい仕方では尊崇しない。審判の日においてはかれは、大地の凡てを一握りにし、その右手に諸天を巻かれよう。かれに讃えあれ。かれは、かれらが配するもののはるか上に高くおられる。

 

They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him. And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He above all that they associate as partners with Him!

 

    68.  ラッパが吹かれると、天にあるものまた地にあるものも、アッラーが御望みになられる者の外は気絶しよう。次にラッパが吹かれると、見よ、かれらは起き上って見まわす。

 

And the Trumpet will be blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are on the earth will swoon away, except him whom Allah will. Then it will blown a second time and behold, they will be standing, looking on (waiting).

 

    69.  その時大地は主の御光で輝き、（行いの）記録が置かれ、預言者たちと証人たちが進み出て、公正な判決がかれらの間に宣告され、（少しも）不当な扱いはされない。

 

And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord (Allah, when He will come to judge among men) and the Book will be placed (open) and the Prophets and the witnesses will be brought forward, and it will be judged between them with truth, and they will not be wronged.

 

    70.  人びとは、その行ったことに対して、十分に報いられよう。かれは、かれらの行った凡てを最もよく知っておられる。

 

And each person will be paid in full of what he did; and He is Best Aware of what they do.

 

    71.  不信者は集団をなして地獄に駆られ、かれらがそこに到着すると、地獄の諸門は開かれる。そして門番が言う。「あなたがたの間から出た使徒は来なかったのですか。（そして）主からの印をあなたがたのために読誦し、またあなたがたのこの会見の日のことを警告しなかったのですか。」 かれらは（答えて）言う。「その通りです。そして不信者に対する懲罰の言葉が、真に証明されました。」

 

And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups, till, when they reach it, the gates thereof will be opened (suddenly like a prison at the arrival of the prisoners). And its keepers will say, "Did not the Messengers come to you from yourselves, reciting to you the Verses of your Lord, and warning you of the Meeting of this Day of yours?" They will say: "Yes, but the Word of torment has been justified against the disbelievers!"

 

    72.  （かれらは）「あなたがたは地獄の門を入れ。その中に永遠に住みなさい。」と言われよう。何と哀れなことよ、高慢な者の住まいとは。

 

It will be said (to them): "Enter you the gates of Hell, to abide therein. And (indeed) what an evil abode of the arrogant!"

 

    73.  またかれらの主を畏れたものは、集団をなして楽園に駆られる。かれらがそこに到着した時、楽園の諸門は開かれる。そしてその門番は、「あなたがたに平安あれ、あなたがたは立派であった。ここに御入りなさい。永遠の住まいです。」と言う。

 

And those who kept their duty to their Lord will be led to Paradise in groups, till, when they reach it, and its gates will be opened (before their arrival for their reception) and its keepers will say: Salamun 'Alaikum (peace be upon you)! You have done well, so enter here to abide therein."

 

    74.  かれらは（感謝して）言う。「アッラーに讃えあれ。かれはわたしたちへの約束を果たし、わたしたちに大地を継がせ、この楽園の中では、好きな処に住まわせて下さいます。」何と結構なことよ、（善）行に勤しんだ者への報奨は。

 

And they will say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah Who has fulfilled His Promise to us and has made us inherit (this) land. We can dwell in Paradise where we will; how excellent a reward for the (pious good) workers!"

 

75.  あなたは見るであろう、天使たちが八方から玉座を囲んで、主を讃えて唱念するのを。人びとの間は公正に裁かれ、「万有の主、アッラーにこそ凡ての称讃あれ。」と（言う言葉が）唱えられる。


   And you will see the angels surrounding the Throne (of Allah) from all round, glorifying the praises of their Lord (Allah). And they (all the creatures) will be judged with truth, and it will be said. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
