慈悲あまねく慈愛深きアッラーの御名において。
Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
1. ハー・ミーム。
HâMîm.
2. アイン・スィーン・カーフ。
'AinSinQaf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
3. このように（主は）あなたに啓示なされる。以前の者たちにも啓示されたように。アッラーは，偉力ならびなく英明であられる。
Likewise Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise inspires you (O Muhammad SAW) as (He inspired) those before you.
4. 天にあり地にある凡てのものは，かれの有である。かれは至高にして至大であられる。
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.
5. 諸天は，その上の方から，ばらばらに裂けようとしている。そして天使たちは，主を讃えて唱念し，地上のもののために赦しを請い願う。ああ，本当にアッラーこそは，寛容にして慈悲深くあられる。
Nearly the heavens might rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty), and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth, verily, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
6. それでもかれの外に，保護者を求める者がおり，アッラーはかれらを監視なされる。だからあなたは，かれらの後見人ではない。
And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah (as) protectors, and they worship them] Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds, etc.).
7. このようにアラビア語でクルアーンをあなたに啓示したのは，あなたが諸都市の母と，その周辺の者に警告し，また疑いの余地のない召集の日に就いて，（かれらに）警告を与えるためである。（その日）一団は楽園に，また一団は業火の中に（入ろう）。
And thus We have inspired unto you (O Muhammad SAW) a Quran (in Arabic) that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it. And warn of the Day of Assembling, of which there is no doubt, when a party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allah and followed what Allah's Messenger SAW brought them) and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allah and followed not what Allah's Messenger SAW brought them).
8. もしアッラーが御望みなら，かれらを一つのウンマになされたであろう。だがかれは，御心に適う者を慈悲の中に入らせられる。悪い行いの者には，保護者も援助者もない。
And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.
9. 何とかれらは，かれを差し置いて，守護者を求めるのか。だがアッラーこそ守護者であり，また死んだものに生を授ける方，凡てのことに全能な方である。
Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.
10. 何事によらず，あなたがたに異論があった時，その決定をするのはアッラーである。これが，わたしの主アッラーである。かれに，わたしは御縋りし，かれにわたしは悔悟して帰る。
And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance.
11. 天と地の創造者。かれはあなたがたのために，あなたがたの間から夫婦を，また家畜にも雌雄を創られた。このようにして，あなたがたを繁殖させる。かれに比べられるものは何もない。かれは全聴にして凡てを見透される方である。
The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
12. 天と地の凡ての鍵は，かれに属する。かれは，御心に適う者に，恵みを広げ，またひき締められる。本当にかれは凡てのことを知り尽される。
To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth, He enlarges provision for whom He wills, and straitens (it for whom He wills). Verily! He is the All-Knower of everything.
13. かれがあなたに定められる教えは，ヌーフに命じられたものと同じものである。われはそれをあなたに啓示し，またそれを，イブラーヒーム，ムーサー，イーサーに対しても（同様に）命じた。「その教えを打ち立て，その間に分派を作ってはならない。」あなたが招くこの教えは，多神教徒にとっては重大事である。アッラーは御心に適う者を御自分のために御選びになり，また悔悟して（主に）帰る者をかれ（の道）に導かれる。
He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad SAW), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Mosesý) and 'Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun , is that to which you (O Muhammad SAW) call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience.
14. 知識がかれらに下った後，間もなくかれらの間の嫉妬によって分派が出来た。定められた時に関し，あなたの主からの御言葉がなかったならば，（問題は）かれらの間でとっくに解決されたであろう。だがかれらの後，啓典を継いでいる者たちはそれに就いて（未だに）疑いを抱いている。
And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them, through selfish transgression between themselves. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term, the matter would have been settled between them. And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture [i.e. the Taurah (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] after them (i.e. Jews and Christians) are in grave doubt concerning it (i.e. Allah's true religion Islam or the Quran).
15. だからあなたは（人を純正な教えに）招き，命じられたように堅忍不抜であれ。かれらの（虚しい）望みに従ってはならない。そして言ってやるがいい。「わたしはアッラーが下された啓典を信奉する。わたしはあなたがたの間を公正に統治するよう命じられた。アッラーはわたしたちの主であり，あなたがたの主であられる。わたしたちには，わたしたちの行いの報いがあり，またあなたがたには，あなたがたの行いの報いがある。わたしたちとあなたがたとの間に，異論などはないのである。アッラーは，わたしたちを（一緒に）召集されよう。かれこそが（わたしたちの）帰る所なのである。」
So unto this (religion of Islam, alone and this Quran) then invite (people) (O Muhammad SAW), and Istaqim [(i.e. stand firm and straight on Islamic Monotheism by performing all that is ordained by Allah (good deeds, etc.), and by abstaining from all that is forbidden by Allah (sins and evil deeds, etc.)], as you are commanded, and follow not their desires but say: "I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book [all the holy Books, this Quran and the Books of the old from the Taurat (Torah), or the Injeel (Gospel) or the Pages of Ibrahim (Abraham)] and I am commanded to do justice among you, Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return.
16. この（イスラーム）が（多くの者に）受け入れられた後アッラー（の教え）に就いて云々する者の論議は，主の御許では無益で，そのような（者たち）は御怒りを被り，厳しい懲罰を受けよう。
And those who dispute concerning Allah (His Religion of Islamic Monotheism, with which Muhammad SAW has been sent), after it has been accepted (by the people), of no use is their dispute before their Lord, and on them is wrath, and for them will be a severe torment.
17. アッラーこそは，真理の啓典と秤を下された方である。その「時」が近いということを，あなたがたに理解させるものは何であろうか。
It is Allah Who has sent down the Book (the Quran) in truth, and the Balance (i.e. to act justly). And what can make you know that perhaps the Hour is close at hand?
18. それ（時）を信じない者はそれを催促するが，信仰する者は，それが真理であることを知っているので，恐れる。本当に時に就いて論議する者は，遠く迷っている者たちである。
Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it, and know that it is the very truth. Verily, those who dispute concerning the Hour are certainly in error far away.
19. アッラーはそのしもべに対して，やさしくあられ，御心に適う者に恵みを与えられる。かれは強大にして偉力ならびなき方である。
Allah is very Gracious and Kind to His slaves. He gives provisions to whom He wills. And He is the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.
20. 来世の耕作を願う者にはわれはその収穫を増し，また現世の耕作を願う者には，その望むだけを与えよう。だがその者には，来世での分け前はないのである。
Whosoever desires (with his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (with his deeds), We give him thereof (what is written for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.
21. それともかれらに（主の）同位者があって，アッラーが御許しになられない宗教をかれらのために立てたのか。決定的（猶予の）御言葉かなかったならば，かれらのことはとっくに裁かれていた。悪い行いの者は本当に痛ましい懲罰を受けるであろう。
Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed. And had it not been for a decisive Word (gone forth already), the matter would have been judged between them. And verily, for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers), there is a painful torment.
22. あなたは悪行の者たちが，その行ったこと（の罪）が，自分たちに降りかかると，恐れ戦くのを見るであろう。しかし信仰して善行に勤しむ者は，楽園の心地よい緑の野にいて，主の御許から，その望むところのものが得られよう。それこそは，偉大な恩恵である。
You will see (on the Day of Resurrection), the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) fearful of that which they have earned, and it (Allah's Torment) will surely befall them, while those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds (will be) in the flowering meadows of the Gardens (Paradise), having what they wish from their Lord. That is the supreme Grace, (Paradise).
23. それは信仰して善行に勤しむしもべに対し，アッラーが伝える吉報である。言ってやるがいい。「わたしはそれに対して，何の報酬もあなたがたに求めてはいない。わたしはあなたがたの近親としての情愛だけを求める。それで誰でも，善行をなす者には，それに対しさらに良いものが与えられる。本当にアッラーは，寛容にしてよく感謝される方である。」
That is (the Paradise) whereof Allah gives glad tidings to His slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds. Say (O Muhammad SAW): "No reward do I ask of you for this except to be kind to me for my kinship with you." And whoever earns a good righteous deed, We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (the deeds of those who are obedient to Him).
24. それともかれらは，「かれ（ムハンマド）はアッラーについて嘘をでっち上げた。」と言うのか。アッラーが御望みならば，あなたの心を封じることも出来る。またアッラーは，その御言葉によって虚偽を消し，真理を打ち立てることも出来る。本当にかれは胸の中に抱くことを知り尽される。
Or say they: "He has invented a lie against Allah?" If Allah willed, He could have sealed your heart (so that you forget all that you know of the Quran). And Allah wipes out falsehood, and establishes the truth (Islam) by His Word (this Qur'an). Verily, He knows well what (the secrets) are in the breasts (of mankind).
25. かれこそは，しもべたちの悔悟を受け入れ，様々な罪を許し，あなたがたの行うことを知っておられる。
And He it is Who accepts repentance from His slaves, and forgives sins, and He knows what you do.
26. かれは信仰して善行に勤しむ者に答えて，恩恵を増やされる。だが不信心な者に対しては，厳しい懲罰を科される。
And He answers (the invocation of) those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and gives them increase of His Bounty. And as for the disbelievers, theirs will be a severe torment.
27. もしアッラーが，そのしもべたちに対し過大に恵みを授けるならば，かれらはたちまち不正にはしる。しかし，かれは望むことを，適度に下される。本当にかれはそのしもべたちを熟知し監視なされる方である。
And if Allah were to enlarge the provision for His slaves, they would surely rebel in the earth, but He sends down by measure as He wills. Verily! He is in respect of His slaves, the Well-Aware, the All-Seer (of things that benefit them).
28. かれこそは（人びとが）絶望した時，雨を降らせ，慈悲を垂れられる方。かれは讃美すべき愛護者であられる。
And He it is Who sends down the rain after they have despaired, and spreads abroad His Mercy. And He is the Wali (Helper, Supporter, Protector, etc.), Worthy of all Praise.
29. 天と地の創造と，その間に捲き散らされた生きとし生ける物は，かれの印の中にある。またかれは，御望みの時に，一斉にかれらを召集なされる権能者である。
And among His Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both. And He is All-Potent over their assembling (i.e. resurrecting them on the Day of Resurrection after their death, and dispersion of their bodies) whenever He will.
30. あなたがたに降りかかるどんな不幸も，あなたがたの手が稼いだものである。それでもかれは，（その）多くを赦される。
And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45).
31. あなたがたは地上において，かれを挫くことは出来ない。あなたがたには，アッラーの外にどんな愛護者も援助者もないのである。
And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper.
32. また，かれの印の一つは船で，それはちょうど海の中を進む山のようである。
And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains.
33. もしかれの御心なら風を静められ，それで（船は）海面に泊ってしまう。本当にこの中には，よく耐え感謝する者への印がある。
If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful.
34. またかれは，（人びとが）自ら犯した罪のために，それら（船）を難破させることも出来る。だが（その罪の）多くを許される。
Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much.
35. しかし，われの印に就いて論議する者は，免れる場もないことを知るであろう。
And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment).
36. あなたがたに与えられる凡てのものは，現世の生活における（暫しの）享楽（に過ぎない）。信仰して，主を信頼する者にとっては，アッラーの御許にあるものこそ，もっとも善であり，はるかに永続する。
So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs).
37. また，大罪や破廉恥な行為を避ける者，怒ってもゆるす者，
And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive
38. また主（の呼びかけ）に答えて礼拝の務めを守る者，互いに事を相談し合って行う者，われが授けたものから施す者，
And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them;
39. 迫害に会った時，助け合い，防衛する者，（にとって，アッラーの御許にあるものこそ，もっとも善であり永続する）。
And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge.
40. 悪に対する報いは，それと同様の悪である。だが寛容して和解する者に対して，アッラーは報酬を下さる。本当にかれは悪い行いの者を御好みになられない。
The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.).
41. 不当なことをされた者が，自ら守って（報復して）も，これらの者に対して罪はない。
And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them.
42. 他人に悪を行い，また度を越した復讐を企て地上を騒がす者たち，かれらに対する（アッラーの）罰は痛ましい懲罰があるだけである。
The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment.
43. だが耐え忍んで赦してやること，それこそ（アッラーの決められた）確固たる人の道というもの。
And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.
44. アッラーが迷うに任せた者には，その後擁護者はないのである。あなたがたは悪を行う者が，懲罰を見ると，「何とか引返す道はないでしょうか。」と言うのを見るであろう。
And whomsoever Allah sends astray, for him there is no Wali (protector) after Him. And you will see the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, oppressors, etc.) when they behold the torment, they will say: "Is there any way of return (to the world)?"
45. あなたがたは，かれらが卑しめられて業火に晒され盗み目で見据えているのを見よう。信仰する者は，「復活の日に，自分自身と追従者を失う者は，本当の損失者です。と言う。ああ，悪を行った者は，本当に永遠の懲罰を受ける。
And you will see them brought forward to it (Hell) made humble by disgrace , (and) looking with stealthy glance. And those who believe will say: "Verily, the losers are they who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, the Zalimun [i.e. Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness and in His Messenger SAW , polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.)] will be in a lasting torment.
46. かれらにはアッラーの外に，助ける守護者はない。アッラーが迷うに任せた者には，（帰る所への）道はないのである。」
And they will have no Auliya' (protectors) to help them other than Allah. And he whom Allah sends astray, for him there is no way.
47. 避けられない日が，アッラーからあなたがたの許にやって来る前に，あなたがたの主（の呼びかけ）に答えなさい。その日あなたがたには避難所もなく，（自分の罪を）否認する余地もない。
Answer the Call of your Lord (i.e. accept the Islamic Monotheism, O mankind, and jinns) before there comes from Allah a Day which cannot be averted. You will have no refuge on that Day nor there will be for you any denying (of your crimes as they are all recorded in the Book of your deeds).
48. もしかれらが背き去っても，われはかれらへの見張り人として，あなたを遣わした訳ではない。あなた（の務め）は，（啓示の）伝達だけである。人間はわれが恵みを味わせると，それにより高慢になる。ところが，自分の手が犯した行いのために不幸に悩まされると，本当に恩を忘れる。
But if they turn away (O Muhammad SAW from the Islamic Monotheism, which you have brought to them). We have not sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a Hafiz (protector) over them (i.e. to take care of their deeds and to recompense them). Your duty is to convey (the Message). And verily, when We cause man to taste of Mercy from Us, he rejoices thereat, but when some ill befalls them because of the deeds which their hands have sent forth, then verily, man (becomes) ingrate!
49. 天と地の大権は，アッラーの有である。かれは御心のままに創られる。かれは，御望みの者に女児を授け，また御望みの者に男児を授けられる。
To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.
50. また男と女を混ぜ（て授け），また御望みの者を不妊になされる。本当にかれは全知にして強力であられる。
Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things.
51. アッラーが，人間に（直接）語りかけられることはない。啓示によるか，帳の陰から，または使徒（天使）を遣わし，かれが命令を下して，その御望みを明かす。本当にかれは，至高にして英明であられる。
It is not given to any human being that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise.
52. このようにわれは，わが命令によって，啓示（クルアーン）をあなたに下した。あなたは，啓典が何であるのか，また信仰がどんなものかを知らなかった。しかしわれは，これ（クルアーン）をわがしもべの中からわれの望む者を導く一条の光とした。あなたは，それによって（人びとを）正しい道に導くのである。
And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad SAW) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Quran) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism).
53. 天にあり地にあるすべてのものを所有するアッラーの道へ。見よ，本当にすべてはアッラー（の御許）に帰って行く。
The Path of Allah, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Verily, all the matters at the end go to Allah (for decision).
