慈悲あまねく慈愛深きアッラーの御名において。
Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
1. ハー・ミーム。
HaMim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
2. この啓典の啓示は，偉力ならびなく英明な，アッラーから（下されたもの）である。
The revelation of the Book (this Quran) is from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
3. 本当に天と地には，信者たちにとり種々の印がある。
Verily, in the heavens and the earth are signs for the believers.
4. またあなたがた自身の創造，そしてかれが（地上に）撤き散らされた生きとし生けるものには，信心堅固な者に対し，種々の印がある。
And in your creation, and what He scattered (through the earth) of moving (living) creatures are signs for people who have Faith with certainty.
5. 昼と夜との交替，またアッラーが天から下された糧，それによって死んでいる大地が甦ること，また風向きの変化にも，知性ある者への種々の印がある。
And in the alternation of night and day, and the provision (rain) that Allah sends down from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the turning about of the winds (i.e. sometimes towards the east or north, and sometimes towards the south or west etc., sometimes bringing glad tidings of rain etc., and sometimes bringing the torment), are signs for a people who understand.
6. これらは，真理によってわれがあなたに読誦するアッラーの印である。アッラーとその啓示以外に，どんな説諭を（かれらは）信じようとするのか。
These are the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.) of Allah, which We recite to you (O Muhammad SAW) with truth. Then in which speech after Allah and His Ayat will they believe?
7. 災いなるかな，凡ての罪深い嘘付き者たちよ。
Woe to every sinful liar,
8. アッラーの啓示がかれに読誦されるのを聞いても，なお強情，高慢で，それが聞こえないかのようである。それなら痛ましい懲罰をかれらに告げ知らせよ。
Who hears the Verses of Allah (being) recited to him, yet persists with pride as if he heard them not. So announce to him a painful torment!
9. かれらは，わが啓示の一端を理解すると，それを嘲笑的にとる，これらの者には，恥ずべき懲罰がある。
And when he learns something of Our Verses (this Quran), he makes them a jest. For such there will be a humiliating torment.
10. かれらの行く先は地獄で，その行ったことは，かれらに役立つことは何もなく，また守護者として，アッラー以外に祈ったものも，役立たない。かれらには手痛い懲罰がある。
In front of them there is Hell, and that which they have earned will be of no profit to them, nor (will be of any profit to them) those whom they have taken as Auliya' (protectors, helpers, etc.) besides Allah. And theirs will be a great torment.
11. これが（真の）導きである。主の印を信じない者たちには，忌しく苦しい懲罰がある。
This (Quran) is a guidance. And those who disbelieve in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, for them there is a painful torment of Rijz (a severe kind of punishment).
12. アッラーこそは海をあなたがたに従わせられた方で，かれの御命令によって，船はそこを航行し，あなたがたはかれの恩恵（の通商往来）を追求する。それであなたがたは，感謝するであろう。
Allah it is He Who has subjected to you the sea, that ships may sail through it by His Command, and that you may seek of His Bounty, and that you may be thankful,
13. またかれは，天にあり地にある凡のものを，（賜物として）あなたがたの用に服させられる。本当にこの中には，反省する者への印がある。
And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all as a favour and kindness from Him. Verily, in it are signs for a people who think deeply.
14. 信仰する者たちに言え。アッラーの日を望まない者でもゆるしてやれ。なぜなら，現世でのかれらの所業に応じて，アッラーはかれら一団に来世で報いられるのだから。
Say (O Muhammad SAW) to the believers to forgive those who (harm them and) hope not for the Days of Allah (i.e. His Recompense), that He may recompense people according to what they have earned (i.e. to punish these disbelievers, who harm the believers).
15. 誰でも善行をする者は自らを益し，悪行をする者は自らを損なう。それからあなたがたの主の御許に帰されるのである。
Whosoever does a good deed, it is for his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against (his ownself). Then to your Lord you will be made to return.
16. 本当にわれは，イスラエルの子孫に啓典と英知と預言の天分を授け，様々の善い給養を与え，また諸民族よりも卓越させた。
And indeed We gave the Children of Israel the Scripture, and the understanding of the Scripture and its laws, and the Prophethood; and provided them with good things, and preferred them above the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of their time, during that period),
17. またわれは（宗教の）事に就いて，かれらに明証を授けた。それで知識がかれらの許に来た後において，自分たちの間の族妬により，異論を唱えるようになった。本当にあなたの主は，異論を唱えたことに就いて，復活の日に御裁きになられる。
And gave them clear proofs in matters [by revealing to them the Taurat (Torah)]. And they differed not until after the knowledge came to them, through envy among themselves. Verily, Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they used to differ.
18. その後われは，あなたに命じ（正しい）道の上に置いた。それであなたはその（道）に従い，知識のない者の虚しい願望に従ってはならない。
Then We have put you (O Muhammad SAW) on a plain way of (Our) commandment [like the one which We commanded Our Messengers before you (i.e. legal ways and laws of the Islamic Monotheism)]. So follow you that (Islamic Monotheism and its laws), and follow not the desires of those who know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari Vol. 25, Page 146].
19. 本当にかれらは，あなたにとってアッラー（からの懲罰）に対し全く無力である。悪を行う者は，お互い同士友である。だがアッラーは，主を畏れる者の友である。
Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allah (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) are Auliya' (protectors, helpers, etc.) to one another, but Allah is the Wali (Helper, Protector, etc.) of the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2).
20. この（クルアーン）は，人びとに対する明証であり，導きであり，また信心の堅固な者への慈悲である。
This (Quran) is a clear insight and evidence for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy for people who have Faith with certainty.
21. あなたがたは，われが悪行を追求する者を，信仰して善行に勤しむ者と同じに扱うとでも思うのか。（不信心者たちの）生（現世）と死（来世）が同じであるとでも思うのか。かれら（不信者）の判断こそ誤算である。
Or do those who earn evil deeds think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, in their present life and after their death? Worst is the judgement that they make.
22. アッラーは，天と地を真理によって創造なされた。そして各人は，その行ったことに対して報いられ，不当に扱かわれることはないのである。
And Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth, in order that each person may be recompensed what he has earned, and they will not be wronged.
23. あなたがたは自分の虚しい願望を，神様として崇めている者を見ないか。アッラーは御承知のうえでかれを迷うに任せ，耳や心を封じ，目を覆われた。アッラーに（見放された）後，誰がかれを導けよう。あなたがたは，これでも訓戒を受け入れないのか。
Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember?
24. かれらは言う。「有るものは，わたしたちには現世の生活だけです。わたしたちは生まれたり死んだりしますが，わたしたちを滅ほすのは，時の流れだけです」 しかしかれらは，これに就いて何の知識もなく，只臆測するだけである。
And they say: "There is nothing but our life of this world, we die and we live and nothing destroys us except Ad-Dahr (the time). And they have no knowledge of it, they only conjecture.
25. われの明白な印がかれらに読誦されると，かれらの論法は只，「あなたの言葉が真実ならば，わたしたちの祖先を連れ戻しなさい」と言うだけである。
And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: "Bring back our (dead) fathers, if you are truthful!"
26. 言ってやるがいい。「アッラーが，あなたがたに生を授け，それから死なせ，それから復活の日に，あなたがたを召集なされる。それに就いて疑いはない。だが，人びとの多くは，これを理解しない。」
Say (to them): "Allah gives you life, then causes you to die, then He will assemble you on the Day of Resurrection about which there is no doubt. But most of mankind know not."
27. 天と地の大権は，アッラーの有である。時が，到来する日，虚偽に従う者は失敗者となる。
And to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. And on the Day that the Hour will be established, on that Day the followers of falsehood (polytheists, disbelievers, worshippers of false deities, etc.) shall lose (everything).
28. あなたは，各集団が跪きながら，夫々の集団で自分の記録の所に呼ばれるのを見よう。この日，あなたがたが行ったことに対して報いられるのである。
And you will see each nation humbled to their knees (kneeling), each nation will be called to its Record (of deeds). This Day you shall be recompensed for what you used to do.
29. このわれの記録こそはあなたがたについて真実を語る。本当にわれは，あなたがたの行ったことを書き留めさせて置いた。
This Our Record speaks about you with truth. Verily, We were recording what you used to do (i.e. Our angels used to record your deeds).
30. それで信仰し，善行に勤しんだ者，主はかれらを，慈悲の中に入らせられる。これは明らかに至福の成就である。
Then, as for those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and did righteous good deeds, their Lord will admit them to His Mercy. That will be the evident success.
31. それから不信者に対しては，「われの啓示が，あなたがたに読誦されなかったのか。あなたがたは高慢で，犯罪者である。」（と言われよう）。
But as for those who disbelieved (it will be said to them): "Were not Our Verses recited to you? But you were proud, and you were a people who were Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals)."
32. そして（かれらに向かって，）「アッラーの御約束は，本当に真実である。（審判の）時は，疑いの余地はないのである。」と告げられると，あなたがたは，「時が何であるのか，わたしたちには分りません。それは全く臆測に過ぎないと思います。だからわたしたちは，しっかりした確信など持てません。」と言った。
And when it was said: "Verily! Allah's Promise is the truth, and there is no doubt about the coming of the Hour," you said; "We know not what is the Hour, we do not think it but as a conjecture, and we have no firm convincing belief (therein)."
33. こうして，かれらの行った様々な悪がかれらに現われ，かれらの嘲笑していたことが，かれらをとり囲む。
And the evil of what they did will appear to them, and they will be completely encircled by that which they used to mock at!
34. 仰せられよう。「今日われは，あなたがたを忘れるであろう。あなたがたが，この日の対面を忘れたように。あなたがたの住まいは業火である。あなたがたには，（もはや）助ける者はないのである。
And it will be said: "This Day We will forget you as you forgot the Meeting of this Day of yours. And your abode is the Fire, and there is none to help you."
35. それはあなたがたが，アッラーの印を嘲笑し，現世の生活があなたがたを欺いていたためである。それで今日は，そこから出して貰えず，また，（アッラーの）御恵みにもあずかれない。」
This, because you took the revelations of Allah (this Quran) in mockery, and the life of the world deceived you. So this Day, they shall not be taken out from there (Hell), nor shall they be Yusta'tabun (i.e. they shall not return to the worldly life, so that they repent to Allah, and beg His Pardon for their sins).
36. 諸天の主，大地の主。万有の主，アッラーにこそ凡ての称讃あれ。
So all the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
37. 天と地における，尊厳は，かれ（だけ）のものである。かれは偉力ならびなく英明であられる。
And His (Alone) is the Majesty in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
